CUWFC prems 2017 CUWFC header Cumberland United Senior girls3

Cumberland United Women’s Football Club is excited to announce that it has been awarded one of eight Women’s National Premier League licences for 2016 as the FFSA launches the new league in South Australia. As a proud family oriented organisation it was considered important to continue to offer not only excellent player development of quality soccer skills in a safe, friendly and fun environment but to also do it at a family affordable price. CUWFC (Cumby) is affiliated with the FFSA and now a WNPL Club, our dedication to providing girls and women of all ages the opportunity to develop and achieve their highest level of play in the sport of football is second to none.

Our Football Director, Steve (Maxi) Maxwell, is a former Socceroo, FFSA Hall of Fame inductee and Player Life Member. Maxi has an outstanding record as a coach, a teacher and mentor and we are excited to confirm that he will again be directing our football in 2016. Maxi also works with our dedicated coaches to further develop our football culture and game style in line with skills acquisition principles as well as promoting the FFA National Curriculum. Our club teaches girls essential football skills including ball mastery, teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. We also focus on coach development ensuring that all coaches are appropriately qualified and provided the opportunity to further develop their skills to provide the best coaching for our women and girls. CUWFC continues to be very proud of its players who are selected to represent FFSA and other regional and representative teams helping further develop their skills and football intelligence.

As a WNPL club Cumby is proud of its long history having fielded teams in all age groups consistently for many years, one of only a couple of WNPL Clubs. Our ability to do this has meant that girls in the Junior grades have been able to transition from age group to age group maintaining friendships while being provided the next level of coaching. We have consistently fielded multiple teams in each age group meaning that our junior girls are given the best opportunity to develop their football in the best possible environment, regardless of age we have a team to suit.

We are also proud to announce Major Sponsorship deals with BMW, Adelaide Mini Garage and EnvyUs Design. With multiple pitches and a magnificent view to the north of Adelaide we call the Women’s Memorial Playing Fields at St Mary’s home.
